The Teachers

From December 6th to 8th, the heart of Milan will be enriched by a new beat: Tap, better known as Tap Dance (or Tip Tap).

The Tappers Family (the name for tap dancers) will reach the studios of the well-known dance space Area Dance, a point of reference for professional dancers in Milan, to give life to a mix of rhythms and dance steps.
Eight teachers from Spain, USA and Italy are ready to share tap dance techniques and styles.

Oren is an NYC-based artist, performer, tap dancer, award winning
choreographer, dance educator, and the founder/director of O.K. DANCE
Company. He is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic
Academy (AMDA) in New York City. He has trained as a tap and jazz
instructor at the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), as
well as studied ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
Oren was born and raised in Israel, and after a career as a dancer,
choreographer and dance teacher in Israel, he moved to NYC in 2010 to
achieve his goals as a creator and performer.
In Israel, Oren started his dance/choreography/teaching career right
after high school in various acting schools, the Israeli opera, and shows
all over Israel. He performed with The Aluminum Show dance company’s
national & international tour in the US, Mexico, Colombia and Israel.
Since graduating from AMDA, he has performed in Off Broadway shows
as Sugar, Imported Bridegroom, My Princess Diana, and at numerous
regional theaters all over the country in classic musicals such as 42nd
Street, Mary Poppins, Cats, Oklahoma!, Singin’ in the Rain, Spamalot, The
Music Man, A Chorus Line and countless others. Oren has choreographed
for NBC (Red Nose Day), The Town Hall NYC, The Wick Theatre, The
Foundry POW, Allenberry Playhouse, various dance competitions, music
videos and more.
Oren was honored to win the 2022 Outstanding Choreography
Carbonell Award for Come Out! Come Out! The new musical at the
Foundry, FL. In 2023 he was nominated for two Outstanding
Choreography – Carbonell Awards; One for Anything Goes, and one for
the new musical One More Yesterday.
As a dance Educator, Oren has more than 15 years of experience teaching
tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, theatre dance, and contemporary, in the US,
Europe, China and Israel. He’s currently teaching at Broadway Dance
Center, Steps On Broadway and AMDA NYC

Rubén Sánchez teaches regularly at the Luthier Professional Tap Program at Escola Luthier Dansa.

He started working as a professional dancer at the age of 21, with the Barcelona company Camut Band, performing in Hong Kong, Barcelona, Madrid, Italy, The Netherlands, London and Dubai. Since 2007, he has been invited to teach and share his passion for Tap Dance in festivals in many countries such as France, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Croatia, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Mexico, Egypt, United States, United Kingdom, Poland, Ukraine, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Czech Republic.
In 2012, started working Rachid Ouramdane, the director of the Théâtre National de la Danse de Chaillot in Paris, and was part of the shows: Sfumato (2012); Tenir le Temps (2015); Franchir La Nuit (2018) and Variations (2019), that were also performed in South Korea, Germany, France, Russia, Italy and Spain.
As guest teacher, was part of the faculty team of important tap festivals such as Tap On Barcelona, Taptastic, Turin Tap Festival, KL Tap Festival, Pilsen Tap Festival, Tip Tap Run, Dance United/Tap United, No Feet Tap Fest, Odessa Tap Festival, among others.

Rubén is part of the Faculty of Luthier’s Professional Training Program for tap dancers.

He received several grants from the Generalitat de Catalunya to study tap dance in New York
with dancers such as Brenda Bufalino, Barbara Duffy and Savion Glover, among others. In
1993 he won the first prize at the World Tap Dance Championship in Switzerland, organized by
the IDO (International Dance Organization).
He has been part of the best tap dance companies in the United States, such as the American
Tap Dance Orchestra, Manhattan Tap and The Tap Collective (New York), as well as Steps
Ahead (Los Angeles), with whom he has performed throughout the United States and Europe.
In Spain, he has danced in the shows ‘Keatoniana’, ‘New Orleans Jazz Tap’ and ‘Sax Tap’. He
has danced and choreographed ‘El Nas Vermell’ and ‘Scandal’, and has performed at the 1999
Goya Awards ceremony with Rosa M. Sardà.
During the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons he was a solo tap dancer in the show ‘Fire Of
Dance’ with which he toured around Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland,
Norway, Holland, Slovakia, Hungary and Belgium. During the month of September 2001 he
performed on Broadway at the New Victory Theatre (New York) with the show ‘La Vida Es
Ritme’, which he co-created with the company Camut Band. This same show has toured the
festivals of Edinburgh (Scotland), Toronto (Canada), New Haven (USA), Greenwich (Great
Britain) and Tàrrega (Spain). He has also choreographed and danced in the shows “Tap Olé”,
premiered in Chicago, and “Boogie Woogie Tap” with the “Lluís Coloma trio”. He is the director
of the company “Barcelona Rhythm Tap”.
He is one of the few dancers who practice sand dance, with which he has gained international
prestige and recognition. Guillem Alonso has been, as a teacher and organizer, the promoter
of a new generation of tap dancers in Barcelona. Currently, he directs the Escola Luthier
Dansa (Barcelona), where he organizes his Professional Tap Training open to dancers from all
over the world. He has won the 2010 Dansacat Award in recognition of his professional career
and in 2023 the Claqueta Award.

His training began in 2012 at the Bernstein School of Musical Theatre, where he quickly launched onto Italy’s most prestigious stages.
Over the course of his career, he has performed in major theatrical productions, including Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Ragtime, Monster Allergy, Crazy for You, where he had the privilege of dancing alongside Manuel Frattini, the world premiere of The Impossible Man, and the international tap dance company SABOR LIIFE IS RHYTHM.
His passion for tap dance has driven him to train with some of the discipline’s greatest masters, earning significant recognition, such as first place in the World Tap Dance Championships in the trio category with the D’Angelo Brothers, and fifth place in the solo category.
He has performed as a soloist nationally and internationally in numerous galas, private events, concerts with major orchestras (big band jazz, symphony orchestras), and television programs, including OnDance, Effetto Domino, Dalla Strada Al Palco, Splendida Cornice, and for two consecutive years, VIVA LA DANZA (Rai 1), the latter organized by Roberto Bolle, with whom he has continued to collaborate as a dancer and choreographer.
The Milan Tap Festival is the first festival to welcome him as a teacher: his experience was gained first as Gillian Bruce’s assistant and then as a teacher of several courses at the BSMT Academy in Bologna.

Davide Accossato is a tap dance performer, teacher and choreographer.
Trained at “Steps On Broadway”, “Broadway Dance Center” in New York, and at “Escuela de
Dansa LUTHIER” in Barcelona.
He performed in the musical “Gloria pax in terra” by Mario Restagno, in Verdi’s operetta “Ballo
in maschera” and in several shows with the company Paolo Ravera’s Dance Session Group.
He performed at the opening of the Paralympics in 2006 in Turin and in the opening ceremony
of the “Fencing World Championships” in 2006.
He performed in a solo tap dance “Singin in the rain” in the transmission of Raffaella Carrà
“Gran Concerto” aired on the Main Italian National Television channel RAI 3.
He is the organizer of the “Turin Tap Festival”, the first international Tap Dance festival in Italy.
Tap Dance teacher at “M.A.S. Music Art & Show” in Milan and “Carma Academy” and “BIT
Academy” in Turin.
Tap Dance choreographer for the Bit Company” of Turin and Neverland Company of Fano.

Giuseppe Galizia is a Tap and Musical Repertory teacher in many musical academies in Milan.
At 16 he began studying TAP with teachers Tata & Chuck Wider in Milan and immediately
undertook numerous trips abroad to study with several iconic teachers of International Tap
Dance (Derrick Grant, Jason Samuel Smith, Michela Marino, Andrew Black, Charles Godderz,
Ray Hesselink).
His career is divided between work as a performer on stage and teaching.
He is one of the longest-running performers of Italian musicals: in Italy he has performed
more than 20 musicals working with all the productions present on the Italian market. He
graduated in Computer Science, but soon realized that his life would have to take an
unexpected direction and so in 1999 he finally landed in the theater which he discovered was
his true passion. He began a successful career that saw him involved in highly successful
musicals: “Grease”, “Hello Dolly!”, “Eppy”, “Sketch”, “Dance”, “Saturday Night Fever”,
“Promesse Promesse”, “Annie”, “Sweet Charity”, “Il giorno della tartaruga”, “A Chorus Line”,
“We will rock you”, “Flashdance”, “Cats”, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”, “Sette spose per
sette fratelli”, “Billy Elliot”,
“Kinky Boots”, “A Chorus Line”, “Legally Blonde” and “Sapore di Mare”. He choreographed the
bis show “The Christmas show” with the collaboration of a great modern choreographer Anna
Rita Larghi.
As a director, he directed the Italian version of the Broadway musical “Cinderella” taking care
of the translation and adaptation on stage at the Teatro Nazionale in Milan during the
Christmas period.
He is the creator of a series of musical-themed campuses for kids: Musical for Kids, Musical
Week and Musical Winter.
In Milan he manages the dance space Area Dance, the reference point for professional
dancers and entertainment workers, which hosts lessons in Ballet, Pointe, Pas de deux,
Modern Jazz, Contemporary Modern, Musical, Floorbar, Heels and Tap Dance.
He teaches Tap Dance and Jazz Broaway Style in some musical academies BSMT (Bologna),
MAM (Milan) and MTM Litta (Milan) and in some Tap Dance festivals around Italy (Turin Tap
Festival, Siracusa Tap Festival, Milan Tap Festival).
He collects programs and mugs (the famous MUGS) from the theaters where he has been to
see a musical: he has more than 100!

He fell in love with Tap Dance at 18 and as soon as he could he ran away to America to study
with Sarah Reich (Broadway Dance Center), Jason E. Bernard, Charles Renato, Hannah
Frederick and William Cartier, Mary Beth Griffith, Barbara Duffy. He graduated from the
musical academy “MTS – Musical! The School”. Performer and dancer for several musicals
“Newsies”, “Mary Poppins”, “The Jungle Book”, “Snow White and the Seven Seven”, “Tangled”.
Acrobat for “The Abduction from the Seraglio” (Teatro alla Scala Milano) and “Ben Ten Live”
(tour). Member of the “Tappers” company, street artist and acrobat at the Scala in Milan. He
performed with several dance companies and reached the semifinals of “Italia’s got talent” in
2015. He teaches Jazz Dance and Tap Dance in several schools in Milan.

Lorenzo Grilli is an actor and performer born in Rome in 1989 and raised in the suburbs with a guitar always in hand. An entertainer with a strong inclination for performance art from an early age, after graduating from high school with a classical high school diploma, in 2013 he received a BA in acting from the EUTHECA Academy. That same year, he made his professional debut at the Globe Theatre with Gigi Proietti’s production of “Romeo and Juliet,” while continuing his studies in acrobatics with the “Scuola Romana di Circo” and tap dancing in Rome and New York. His versatility in the arts and his acting skills allow him to work in film, television, drama, musicals, and opera. He has worked in the cinema with Fabrizio Moro and Alessio de Leonardis in “ICE”, with Roberta Torre in “Riccardo va all’inferno”, Volfango De Biasi in “Natale a Londra” and on television with Andrea Porporati in “IL CAPITANO MARIA”. However, it is in theatres throughout Italy that he receives the greatest satisfaction, working alongside artists such as: LA FURA DEL BAHUS, Sergio Blanco, Luca Micheletti, Carlo Valli, Luca Biagini, Loredana Scaramella, Lorella Cuccarini, Luca De Bei, Pierfrancesco Pingitore and Massimo Popolizio, who in “Ragazzi di vita” entrusted him with the role of “Riccetto”, Pasolini’s protagonist and subsequently that of “Rodolfo” in “Uno sguardo dal ponte”. Currently he is on national tour as the protagonist of the musical “Singing in the Rain” directed by Luciano Cannito.
